Hardcover Description

Alan Alda's autobiography travels a path less taken. Instead of a sensationalist, name-dropping page-turner, Alda writes about his life as a memory play, an exercise in recollecting his childhood, his parents (dad Robert was a veteran on stage, film, and vaudeville), and his career. You want to know about Alda's most famous work, the eleven years on

A Few Customer Reviews

A refreshing biography

It definetely is not an ordinary biography. Alan gives a glimpse of his life and work but he is quite generous to share his feelings and emotions with us. I liked how he lets us take a peak into his emotional development and family life groving up.

Totally worth Buying

I love to read celebrity biographies. This was one I thought I am going to love. It is very much different from the typical biography. He writes about what he is feeling rather than who kissed who. It was a refreshing change. I liked the book and am encouraging friends and family to read it too.

A Terrific Read

I picked the paperback version of this book up on a whim about a month ago, and am I ever glad that I did. I've never been a big reader of celebrity biographies or autobiographies, having read only those of Ingrid Bergman (autobiography) and Vivien Leigh (three different biographies), and then Jane Fonda's memoir. "Never Have Your Dog Stuffed" is a much shorter book than any of those books, but I didn't feel I was getting significantly less of anything from its author.
