A Few Customer Reviews

Excellent Story but Too Much Information

Diane Fanning chose an excellent crime story to write about in Marc Evonitz; however, I found that the downfall was too much information was included that was not necessary. In this book, Fanning includes details on numerous other crimes that I had trouble seeing the relation to of the crimes committed by Evonitz. For example, readers are given in depth account of Evonitz's stepfather's (Perry Deveaux) crimes of rape and murder. If Deveaux had been an influence in Evonitz's life, such account would be worth detail; but since Deveaux was incarcerated for the duration of the marriage to Evonitz's other Tess, such vivid detail was not really necessary. The book is full of summary detail on a variety of crimes such as this.

Into a Thrill Ride

This guy next door will haunt your dreams. Diane tells the story so well you feel as if you are actually travelling to each town he visited. And the odd coincidence of the serial killer's mother marrying another murderer in jail is just too bizarre. I'd followed the news coverage as this story happened and never ran across that odd piece of family dysfunction anywhere else.

Skip this book

The events described in this book are both disturbing and tragic. The author's style is also equally disturbing. This book seems to be filled with useless facts that are loosely connected to the main story. Towards the end of the book I resorted to skimming paragraphs and pages that were boring and obviously not worth reading. If anyone is interested in this case I would recommend performing a Google search as an alternative to reading this book.
